FILM REVIEW ANALYSIS ON LIGHT MY FIRE

Most short films carry lots of messages. They leave you in suspense for a while. That is exactly what happened in Light My Fire a short film by Bobb Barito. Initially, I felt tensed and intrigued. It engaged me from the beginning because an angry man stormed out of his house gets into his car and drives off . He tries trespassing a private property to hit a boy called Clark with a bat he found on the ground for what he did to his daughter.  For revenge to reign, the man calls his son out for the father of the girl to hit him back. The actions of the characters were very realistic and they did deliver strong performances. The girl actually stands out because she got mad at her dad even though he went out to seek revenge on her behalf. The relationship between the father and daughter were compelling. The cinematography was beautiful and striking. The shot of the girl in the bathtub stands out. The lighting was natural and colours were bright. The use of angles in communicating the mindset of the character. The dialogue that went on did not clash with the music in the background. The soundtrack also enhanced mood and storytelling because the music matched the mood. It did leave a lasting impression. I personally would recommend this film to everyone because it speaks about the love our parents have for us and also revenge actually mends nothing. The film has a lasting impact because it teaches a lot and it is very interesting. Stephanie Armah Korkor - BFAMPP28025
