FILM TITLE: LIGHT MY FIRE
DIRECTOR: BOBB BARITO
This is a short, intense movie about what happens when a man tries to act like a tough hero but real life doesn’t work that way. It shows how a man’s idea of being strong and manly can turn messy and even dangerous when things don’t go his way.
The director, Bobb Barito, did a great job telling the story without making it obvious. The story’s main fight happens halfway through the film not at the end like in most movies. This means we spend more time seeing what happens after the violence. The dad, who acts out of anger to protect his daughter, ends up not knowing how to comfort her afterwards. That’s the sad truth the movie leaves us with, he can fight, but he doesn’t know how to be there for her emotionally.
In my view , all the characters were well developed and played a good role, the action of Clerk's Dad took me by surprise because i didn't expect the beatings that came after but it was a sign of disciplining his son because from the statement of Clerk's Dad '' Boy did you hit another girl'' makes it obvious that his son is of that character.
Sound effect and music was well composed, it correspond with each scene.camera angles on point especially with the tracking of the moving car, I loved the cinematic grading as well.
In conclusion, this short film didn't meet my expectation even thou it educates us on disciplining a child when they go wrong,in my view, Clerk should have been punished in a different way instead of the blow beatings. Secondly, after the report to clerk's Dad on Clerk abusing his girlfriend, it looks physically attended to but emotionally Clerk girlfriend Kendra was broke down. Kendra's Dad starts out thinking he’s protecting his daughter, but he ends up unable to comfort her rather.

ReplyDeleteYour explanation made me understand how Powerful and intense. In just a few minutes, it says so much about anger, fatherhood, and the damage passed down through generations.
