MOVIE ANALYSIS (WASHLAND EXPRESS)
A movie directed by Camille Campbell
STORY AND THEME
The film made me feel excited seeing the young lady finding love after a period of breakup with his boyfriend. At the beginning of the story, I was not satisfied until I saw the young lady happily connecting with the car wash employee. The story can be summarized s “A depressed young lady who finds love at a car wash”. The theme of the film is about how resilient the young lady was when the car wash employee asked her for her phone and wallet. I was surprised seeing the car wash employee asking he young lady to bring her phone and wallet and I was also surprised to see the young girl knock down the car wash employee with her car.
Both characters played their role very well making
the movie enjoyable and understandable. The actors delivered a superb performance
looking at how they connected the first day they met, In the beginning of the
movie, the car wash employee looked positive as he expressed love to the lady
but later in the movie he exhibited a negative character.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
With only two setting, the cinematography was on
point as the shots were focused on both characters revealing their emotions and making the movie
an attractive one to watch. The close-up shot from the last scene showing the
smiling face of the woman caught my attention.
SOUND AND MUSIC
The use of cool country music at the beginning and
end of the film resonates with the message of the film. The use of sound effect
in the scene where the car was washed was on point and added a feel to the
movie. The sound effect used when the car knocked the car wash employee down
made the movie look real.
OVERALL
IMPACT
The film met my expectation when the young lady
became happy after connecting with the car wash employee. One emotion I
experienced or felt in the movie was love.
