STORY AND THEME

Still wylde a short film that blends humor with depth in a way that is both engaging and thought provoking. It is a kind  of short film that hits you with unexpected mix of humor and heartbreak. It is bittersweet and uncomfortable a way and lingers around your mind afterward . It does not waste time to grab you. The story opens up about a striking situation of a couple trying to process a miscarriage which they weren't expecting. It engages you so fast not with plots but with raw dialogue and an intimate look people usually hide.

Still Wylde is a short film about a couple dealing with unwanted pregnancy. The female character Gertie goes to the pharmacy to get herself some pregnancy test kits and after trying three different test, they all prove she is indeed pregnant and did not want the father of the baby to be her husband because she thinks she isn't rich enough to take care of her and the baby. They finally admit taking care of the child and happy to receive her. After they visited some friends to have fun, Gertie bleeds and least expected she may loose the child. They went to the hospital for a scan and the baby was dead in her womb. "What a bad news". The central message still why carries is how we cope with things that don't go according to plan. It is about confronting what it takes to move forward when life doesn't match your expectation.

CHARACTERS AND PERFORMANCES

The story had twist because these two characters Gertie and her boyfriend did not expect the baby but they adopted to the situation and suddenly the child dies just like that piercing their hearts very hard because they were prepared to receive the child. The characters did not give big dramatic monologues instead you get to know them through their casual biting monologue. They behave like a real couple struggling with something too big talk about. These characters don't overplay the emotions, instead they let the awkward humor and uncomfortable silences do a lot of work they are not the picture of a perfect couple they are a bit awkward in a bit sarcastic. They do not quite know how to express.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

The cinematography in "Still Wylde" does not rely on flashy visuals. It uses simple and naturalistic shots to keep focus on the characters interactions. Close up shots and static shots give you space to sit with the silences and uncomfortable humor. There is no bright and polished look. Lighting is soft and natural used to create a real atmosphere. The framing is tight and often static which keeps you focused on the characters body the language. The music is gentle and understated. It implies the film's honesty and intimacy.

SOUND AND MUSIC

The sound effects were clear and you could hear everything they said. It can evoke bittersweet sadness because it touches on miscarriage and lost potential. It also brings out a kind of uncomfortable laughter because the characters use humor to cover the pain.

OVERALL IMAPACT

Overall, I would recommend "Still Wylde" to others because it's short yet emotionally impactful a good example of how much you can say in just a few seconds the story that opens up real sometimes uncomfortable conversations.
